Millet Mushroom Spawn Bag (2 lb)

Millet is one of the fastest colonizing grains for making mushroom spawn. 

We offer whole Millet mushroom substrate spawn bags with inoculation port and .5 micron gas exchange filter. Some mushrooms will fruit directly from the colonized block. If you intend on fruiting from block do not break up mycelium and try to keep the substrate shape intact.

• [FRESH] We produce these to-order and then place in a vacuum bag and vacuum seal to lock in freshness until you are ready to use. The vacuum bag also protects substrate during shipping. This product easily has a 2 month or longer shelf life. 
• [PREP KIT INCLUDED] Nitrile gloves, alcohol swabs and a face mask come with every order.
• [INOCULATION] Wipe port down with provided alcohol swab and inject 2cc of spore solution or 3-4cc of liquid culture "not included". After each injection make sure you flame the needle until it glows.
• [INCUBATION] Place bag in a dark place and make sure bag can breath through filter. Never force air in or out of the bag. Once bag is fully colonized you can leave the block whole and fruit from the block or break it up and allow it to fully colonize again if pairing with casing mix. Each mushroom strain has its own incubation and fruiting temperatures that you should follow.
• [FRUITING] The best way to use this substrate is to pair it with casing mix and use a monotub to grow. Download our Free Monotub Build & Grow Guide. 
• [HARVESTING] We recommend cutting the mushrooms at the base to harvest instead of pulling them out of the substrate. The reason is if you pull them out no other mushrooms will grow there during the next flush "wave" of mushrooms. Usually you can get 2-3 flushes per grow. 
• [DRYING] To dry mushrooms you can use a hanging herb dryer or a simple window screen.

 Inject with 2cc of spore solution or 3-4cc liquid culture and shake the bag up good.
